Purdue vs. Penn State line, prediction: Take Boilermakers

The Purdue defense has been one of the most rock-solid units in the nation in 2021, giving up 72 points or fewer in every game this calendar year. On Friday, the Boilermakers will visit a Penn State squad looking for revenge after an 80-72 defeat in West Lafayette, Ind., in January.

The Penn State offense has sputtered in February, scoring more than 68 points twice in their seven games, averaging 64.7 points per game. The Nittany Lions are shooting 31.6 percent from 3-point range in this stretch after making 36.6 percent from distance in their first 13 games, a problem considering Purdue is giving up the fewest points per game on 2-point shots among the 14 Big Ten teams in conference play.

Purdue ranks 21st in the country in rebound rate in true road games and should own the paint against a Penn State team that is allowing opponents to make 54.8 percent of its 2-point shots, which ranks 318th. Trevion Williams is the Boilermakers’ leading scorer at 16 ppg and also their top rebounder at 9.1 per game.

The Boilermakers have covered the spread in eight of their past 11 games, and with Penn State ranking 244th in country in points given up on a per-possession basis, Purdue’s covering ways should continue on Friday.

The play: Purdue, -1.

Euro 2021: Denmark vs. Finland suspended after Christian Eriksen collapses on the field

Euro 2021: Denmark vs. Finland suspended after Christian Eriksen collapses on the field

UEFA suspended the Euro 2021 Group B match between Denmark and Finland after a medical emergency involving Denmark’s Christian Eriksen.

There was silence at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark just before halftime when star midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed to the ground after taking a touch on a throw-in. Team medical staff raced to tend to the playmaker after his teammates motioned frantically for help. There was no contact with opposition players before he fell to the ground.

As the medics tended to Eriksen for more than 10 minutes, his Denmark teammates formed a circle around him to block cameras from showing the scenes. From the video available it appeared that the medical intervention involved the administering of chest compressions. An image credited to Getty Images shows an alert Eriksen as he is being stretchered off the field.

UEFA later confirmed that the player was transferred to a local hospital and has been stabilized.

Players on the field and fans in the stands looked distraught during the ordeal with fans attempting to rally in applause to support the player.

ESPN broadcaster Derek Rae was calling the match when the incident occurred:

Eriksen debuted for Denmark in March 2010 and has accumulated 108 appearances and 36 goals for his country. The playmaker made his name on the club level with Dutch giants Ajax and he later moved to English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. After a difficult spell at the English club he was loaned to Italian club Inter Milan last year and he returned to his best form in helping Inter win the Italian Serie A championship.

YouTube vs. TikTok fight purse: How much will Austin McBroom, Bryce Hall earn in boxing exhibition?

A week after Floyd Mayweather bragged about being the best at “legalized bank robbing,” it seems some YouTube and TikTok stars are hoping to join in on the fun.

In an event named “Battle of the Platforms” some influencers from YouTube and TikTok are fighting each other in boxing matches. The headlining fight is between YouTube’s Austin McBroom and TikTok’s Bryce Hall, and both are set to make a decent amount of money from this bout.

In a press release for the fight, LiveXLive (which is hosting the event) says this will be a “one of a kind, unprecedented live PPV entertainment mega event.” In addition to the fights, there will also be musical acts from some well-known performers, so clearly there’s plenty of money to go around.

Below, we’ll focus mostly on the earnings between McBroom and Hall.

How much will Bryce Hall earn vs. Austin McBroom?

Bryce Hall revealed he’s set to earn $5 million from this fight the moment he steps in the ring. He shared a photo of what he claims is his contract with the $5 million figure in it, and shared that number again during an interview with No Jumper. Hall also revealed in that interview that he’ll earn 4% of pay-per-view sales in addition to the $5 million contract. And he gets a $1 million bonus if he ends up getting a knockout. McBroom also confirmed the $5 million and $1 million figures.

How much will Austin McBroom earn vs. Bryce Hall?

While the exact figures for McBroom aren’t public, he did share some information about how much he’ll make in this fight. He confirmed Hall’s $5 million salary for this fight in an interview with The Hollywood Fix. In that interview, he shared that he’s willing to make less than Hall in order to make this fight happen.

“I told the team, I said look, I’ll agree, for Bryce Hall to fight me, I’ll agree to make less money than him,” McBroom said.

He also said the $1 million bonus for Hall (if he gets a knockout) will come out of his own pocket.

While McBroom says he’s set to “make less” than Hall, the way he was talking made it seem like he wasn’t going to be making much less. It feels safe to assume McBroom will also earn millions from this event. In an interview with Keemstar, McBroom and Hall had an agreement to where Hall would also give McBroom $1 million in the result of a knockout.

YouTube vs. TikTok fight payouts

The fight payout for the rest of the fighters in this event have not been revealed yet, but a few of the fighters involved have talked about money. AnEsonGib, who reportedly made over $1 million from his fight vs. Jake Paul, earning him the nickname Seven-Figure Gibber, said in an interveiw with FanSided that money has been the driving influence for a lot of these internet boxing matches.

“And now other influencers, I fought when there was no money,” AnEsonGib said. “I had two fights, then fight for a check. Other influencers now, they see, they understand, they think it’s a cool experience. Don’t understand the trenches and the hard work. A lot of people said they were fighting for money. Cool, I got a nickname Seven-Figure-Gibber, but I’ve got a true passion for this.”

Also speaking to FanSided, Deji mentioned money as well.

“I would say it’s because there’s money to be made, because each, they have a following,” Deji said. “So obviously, Jake Paul having like, such a social following, and then turn habits into like a fight-following, and then just combining those two it’s just money to be made. That’s why. So ultimately, it’s just more eyes on the sport of boxing.”

Deji’s opponent Vinnie Hacker also had a humorous moment during a press conference for his fight where he said he’s only doing this fight because of money.
