Juan Jesus has appeared to hit out at Roma in a feud with a fan on social media. “You think with my two cents, the club’s finances are resolved?”
The controversy began when Roma posted a picture on their Instagram profile, counting down to the Serie A restart.
That prompted Juan Jesus, who has played just four times this season, to reply with a sarcastic comment.
“How nice of Roma to not even put me on their profile. That shows they believe in me!” he wrote.
Things took a sharp turn when a supporter asked the defender to leave the Giallorossi so he could save them €2.2m a year before tax.
“Do you think that with my two cents, the club’s entire finances are resolved? Did you skip a maths lesson?” he bit back.
“Coming to Roma was never about money.”
Corriere dello Sport reported the exchange as the 29-year-old ‘attacking’ his employers and, in particular, the state of their finances.
